You've invested in a professional detail — now here's how to keep your car looking great between appointments.

The Two-Bucket Method

This is the single most important technique for safe washing:

• Bucket 1 — Soapy wash water
• Bucket 2 — Clean rinse water with a grit guard

Dip your wash mitt in the soapy bucket, wash a panel, then rinse the mitt in the clean bucket before reloading with soap. This prevents you from grinding dirt back into your paint.

Use the Right Products

• pH-neutral car soap — Dish soap strips wax and coatings.
• Microfiber wash mitt — Never use sponges or old towels.
• Microfiber drying towels — Pat dry, don't drag.

Wash in the Shade

Direct sunlight causes soap to dry on the surface, leaving water spots and potentially etching the clear coat.

Work Top to Bottom

The lower panels are always the dirtiest. Start with the roof and work your way down to avoid dragging heavy contamination across cleaner surfaces.

Quick Detailer Between Washes

For light dust, a spray-on quick detailer with a clean microfiber towel is safer than a full wash. It adds a layer of lubrication so you're not dry-wiping.
